Students from the National Honor Society and the Outreach Club from The Lowell School in Flushing participated in the annual “New York Cares Day”. They were assigned to Kissena Park and spent the day cleaning up weeds, mulching, and clearing an area next to the lake. This is part of the school’s endeavor to provide students with the opportunity to perform community service. Although it was hard work, the students were excited to be part of this experience and were very proud of the difference they made.
