Thank you for your interest in The Lowell School. Our goal is to close the gap between your child's potential and his/her day-to-day performance. We strive to support and nurture each child within the context of a challenging academic program. Since 1968, The Lowell School has become a widely respected and recognized learning institution whose goal is to maximize the learning potential of each student.
The application process has several steps, and we are here to guide you along the way. Following, we have compiled some pertinent information pertaining to the admissions procedure. This includes a parent visit, application and evaluation review, and notification. In addition, we encourage you to inquire about our Open House and individual tours.
We look forward to meeting you and your child.
Open Houses are held at the Elementary/Middle School during the fall and winter months. Individual Tours are conducted throughout the year at the High School. To schedule a visit, please contact the Clinical Coordinator at the appropriate building.
You must submit the following forms simultaneously for an application to be considered:
- Application for Admissions (click here)
- Release Form (included in Application for Admissions)
- Educational Evaluation
- Social History
- Psychological Evaluation (within two years)
- Most recent IEP
- Teacher Report Form / Elementary and Middle School only (download pdf)
- School Transcript and Records Release / Students entering Grades 9-12 (download pdf)
- $50.00 Non-Refundable Application Fee (non-funded applicants only)
The completed application packet is prescreened by our admissions team. When there is potential for placement, an appointment is scheduled for an intake interview, which both the student and parent attends. We regret that we are unable to interview all applicants.
Parents will be contacted to inform them of the admissions decision. If a child is accepted, it should be understood that the seat can only be held by either a signed contract with a one-month tuition deposit or, prior approval of funding from the Department of Education or your local school district.
